Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Begin your journey with an early morning departure from Marrakech towards the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260 meters). Head to Ait Ben Haddou and visit the Kasbah, which dates back to the 11th century and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1980. Enjoy lunch on-site before continuing to Ouarzazate. Upon arrival, visit the film studio and the famous Taourirt Kasbah, which was the largest residence of the powerful Pacha of Marrakech in the 19th century. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Zagora
Start your day with a traditional breakfast at your hotel before heading to the village of Agdez. Pass through several small Berber villages with typical regional architecture. Enjoy lunch in one of the village's Kasbahs before continuing along the Draa Valley (the longest river in Morocco), where the landscape is a true, uninterrupted oasis. Reach Zagora and enjoy a camel ride to witness the splendid sunset over the Zagora Desert. Spend the evening with dinner and an overnight stay in a bivouac under the stars.
Day 3: Zagora – Tamgroute – Marrakech
Begin your day with a short camel ride to watch the sunrise over the dunes of Zagora. Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the desert before returning to the town by camel. Rejoin your vehicles and continue along the ancient route to Timbuktu to reach Tamgroute. Upon arrival, visit the grand religious center of Zaouïa Sidi Naceri (the first and oldest desert library), where the oldest preserved works date back to the 11th century.
